Trippi's Storm took 2 more years to break his maiden, but switching him to the turf caused a swift improvement. Here, he is in the Saratoga paddock preparing for the Sword Dancer. He finished 3rd behind Grand Couturier and English Channel.

Trippi's Storm's next start was in the Man'O War Stakes. He finished 4th behind Doctor Dino.

Three weeks later, Trippi's Storm was entered in the Kelso Handicap at the shorter distance of a mile. Finally, success! He beat the highly regarded After Market. Here he is seen galloping to the winner's circle.
